May 10, 2024

Calling all animal lovers! Pope Memorial Humane Society is thrilled to announce its annual Kid’s Day event, a celebration in honor of National Be Kind to Animals Week. Mark your calendars for this Saturday, May 11th, from 12 pm to 2 pm, rain or shine, for an afternoon brimming with animal friends, animal-themed activities, and crafts.

Attendees will have the opportunity to:

  • Meet animals awaiting their forever homes: Get ready to fall in love with adorable cats and dogs seeking loving families as they have the opportunity to tour the shelter.
  • Become a junior vet: Practice veterinary skills at the “Be a Veterinarian Station” and learn about caring for animals in need.
  • Participate in the Cats vs. Dogs beanbag toss competition: Test your aim and have a great time with some friendly competition.
  • Spread love by creating cozy blankets for foster kittens: Craft blankets to keep foster kittens warm and comfortable.
  • Surprise Mom with a special Mother’s Day gift: Join us in making a secret gift for Mom, a heartwarming surprise she’ll cherish.
  • Enjoy outdoor fun: Bring your smiles and comfy shoes for giant bubbles, sidewalk chalk, and other outdoor activities, weather permitting.

Thanks to the generous support of Shepard Storage and Shepard Auto, snacks will be provided to keep everyone fueled for the festivities. Best of all, entry to this event is free! Kid’s Day is not just about fun—it’s about celebrating kindness to animals and creating cherished family memories while making a difference in the lives of homeless pets.

Don’t miss out on the fun! Bring your family and friends to Pope Memorial Humane Society on May 11th for an unforgettable afternoon of love and laughter. Building a kinder, gentler world begins with teaching our children the importance of compassion for all living things. You can’t go wrong with celebrating being kind to animals!
