The exhibit is running now through the end of August, 2024.
Camden Falls Gallery has been doing its part to keep Maine’s rich nautical heritage alive through showcasing the works of many contemporary artists that find their muse and inspiration along Maine’s coastline and harbors.
The new exhibition coincides with the Camden Classics Cup and the Eggemoggin Reach Regatta, which first race runs from Castine to Camden. These races draw classic and vintage boats from around New England for racing in one of the best sailing areas on the east coast.
Featured in the show will be new works from the talented roster of gallery artists.
Poppy Balser‘s new series “Across The Finish Line” is a collection of paintings from photographs taken during last year’s Eggemoggin Reach Regatta just outside Camden harbor.
Camden Falls Gallery Owner, Howard Gallagher states, “For the last two years Poppy and I were extremely fortunate to put ourselves at the finish line for the retired skippers race which ended with a long spinnaker run to the finish line. The excitement and action is perfectly captured perfectly in Poppy’s paintings.
Through the course of the winter, the gallery has worked with Jay Brooks and providing him with a number of images of Camden Harbor and the boats that frequent our area. Jay’s paintings will take you from bright sun lit afternoons, to the glowing golden hour at the end of the day, then into quiet evenings nocturnes.
Please stop bye enjoy these and other nautical themed works by Beth Bathe, Olena Babak, Jon McPhillips, Brad Betts, and Kirk McBride.
