ArtFeeds, an exhibition of artist bowls will be on display at Page Gallery from September 19-28. A closing reception and auction will be held on Saturday, September 28. David Graeme Baker’s paintings suggest stories and evoke deep feelings in response to the figures. With precise detail and atmospheric abstraction, Baker’s subjects are perfectly rendered, but his images are made more interesting when the viewer observes where he has chosen to let edges become vague, and allowed color notes to suggest the space. Baker’s paintings are contemplative and beautiful, capturing the essence of our inner life.
Sal Taylor Kydd’s photographs draw on her connection to the landscape and natural world. The intimate coves, worn buildings, and the beauty of layers of stems, blossoms and foliage carry the weight of memory and accumulated intimacy. Kydd’s images are striking for their quiet beauty and invite the viewer to bring their own interpretation while contemplating the depth of the scene.
In Portland artist Holden Willard’s paintings, figures meld into their environments, eliciting the sensation that we are glimpsing at memories or dreams. Willard’s use of saturated colors and bold brushstrokes further adds to the feeling that we are looking at a mood. Willard’s paintings immerse the viewer in a scene that does not stop for our gaze, that the worlds captured are fleeting.

The opening reception for STORY SUGGESTED coincides with Camden’s Art Walk on Thursday, September 19 from 5-7 pm when Bay View Street will be closed to vehicles and there will be live music, a food truck by @brothershucker, crafting with Miss Amy from the Camden Public Library, and galleries and shops open late.
