Rockland–Celebrate Día de los Muertos (The Day of the Dead) with Penobscot Bay Language School!
Penobscot Bay Language School is excited for the return of the very popular Dia De Los Muertos sugar skull worksop event with other cultural activities related to the unique holiday celebrated throughout Mexico, Mesoamerica, and beyond!
The Día de los Muertos family event is for all ages! Families with young children are encouraged to participate. The event will be held Saturday, November 2nd from11:00 AM – 1:00 PM to decorate traditional sugar skulls, discuss the holiday’s origins and cultural significance worldwide. Enjoy traditional Mexican hot chocolate, and a Pan De Muerto pastry to complete your Day of the Dead experience with PBLS.
Participants will learn traditional songs and stories (sing along & read-a-load) in Spanish and English about this fun and meaningful holiday. The event will be held at Penobscot Bay Language School located at 28 Gay Street, Rockland, ME.
$10 per participant* (includes sugar skulls, decorating materials, “pan de muerto”, and Mexican hot chocolate!).
*Children 5 years of age and younger do not need to pay the entrance fee; limit 2 children per paying adult. Please email info@penobscot.us with any questions prior to registration.
