Camden Area Youth Seamanship Program

Sailing Classes have been and integral part of the Camden Yacht Club since 1951. Camden Area Youth Seamanship Program (CAYSP) currently has a fleet of over 45 boats including Optimists, 420's, Lasers, and RS Quests. Our classes are offered 5 days a week throughout the summer, based out of the beautiful facilities of the Camden Yacht Club. Our expert directors have developed a program that allows for every kid to safely enjoy the many opportunities sailing has to offer. Additionally, our staff is enthusiastic and unique, as we are proud to have many of our experienced instructors return year after year! It is our pleasure to offer instruction to kids as young as 6 years old, as well as classes for every level sailor, explorer and even a very popular girls leadership class. We understand that not all kids want to race, so we have plenty of options for those who are not interested in competing. On the other hand, if your child is interested in racing, CAYSP offers racing instruction as well as many chances for regatta participation in Optimists, Lasers and 420s. Throughout the season, there are several social and family friendly events (all listed on our website) which we encourage you to attend. The CAYSP community is strong both on and off the water!
