MidCoast Human Resources Association
The MidCoast Human Resources Association (MCHRA) is an organization of human resource professionals from both small and large organizations with specialist and generalist backgrounds. MCHRA is a chapter of the national Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). The purpose of MCHRA is to advance the human resources profession by providing opportunities for Human Resources practitioners to gain knowledge in the field and to exchange experience through networking with other professionals and organizations. This will be accomplished through meetings, programs, forums and other means deemed advisable by the membership or the Board of Directors. The MCHRA is governed by a Board of Directors who are voted into office each year. The Board consists of a President, President-Elect, Secretary, Treasurer, and Immediate Past-President. The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is the world’s largest association devoted to human resource management. Representing more than 200,000 individual members, the Society’s mission is to serve the needs of HR professionals by providing the most essential and comprehensive resources available. As an influential voice, the Society’s mission is also to advance the human resource profession to ensure that HR is recognized as an essential partner in developing and executing organizational strategy. Founded in 1948, SHRM currently has more than 550 affiliated chapters and members in more than 100 countries.
