Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District (KLSWCD) will hold an Environmental Youth Education Fundraiser at American Flatbread Company, 399 Commercial Street (Rt 1) in Rockport on Tuesday, April 2nd, from 5 to 7 pm. American Flatbread will donate a portion of all pizza sales from the evening in support of the conservation district’s K-12 education programs, which are offered free to all Knox and Lincoln County students throughout the year. These programs include the national conservation poster contest for grades K-6, Read ME Agriculture for grades Pre-K-4, and the Maine Envirothon competition for grades 9-12.
All who attend will have the chance to view the winning entries from this year’s conservation poster contest, May The Forest Be With You Always. This winter, KLSWCD program coordinator Louisa Crane presented learning sessions about healthy forests to 61 classrooms and 16 schools, with 580 posters submitted. Please join us to enjoy pizza and supportenvironmental education in Knox and Lincoln counties.
