Rockland–Penobscot Bay Language School, at 28 Gay Street in Rockland will be hosting a German-themed event, entitled “Bierschmecken” (beer-tasting) on Saturday, August 24th, at 4:00 pm. Local microbreweries will be offering samples of beer, followed by a German-style supper, and a film in German with English subtitles.
Midcoast Maine is fortunate to have so many beer choices when buying local, but the wall of choices in our corner store can be overwhelming. PBLS’ Bierschmecken is an opportunity to sample a variety of local beers in order to make informed choices about what local beer options exist in beautiful Midcoast Maine. The Bierschmecken is not a competition, as each person has their own taste preferences.
Penobscot Bay Language School offers online and in-person foreign language classes & tutorials, free English for New Mainers, intercultural community events, cooking classes, and numerous educational outreach programs and events for youth and adults in the Midcoast region.
Founded in 1986 as a nonprofit language school and center for cultural exchange, Penobscot Bay Language School has served thousands of local and international students of all ages through language classes and intercultural programming. Over three decades later they continue to promote their mission: To develop and provide opportunities for the people of Midcoast Maine and around the World to explore our shared experience on Earth through the study and celebration of language and culture.
