
Mr. Benissan is known locally for his accomplishments at his Rockland based restaurant–Me lon Togo–including national recognition with both television and magazine articles about his restaurant. What many people don’t necessarily know about Mr. Benissan is that he is a world-renowned polyrhythmic expert and professor of music at Colby College in Waterville, ME. Proceeds from the dinner and a show fundraising event support program costs for Penobscot Bay Language School, a local nonprofit organization supporting the language learning needs of Midcoast Mainers and beyond. The $35 entrance fee includes a four course authentic West African meal and African drumming demonstration led by Chef/Professor Benissan.
The event will be held Wednesday, August 14, from 6:00 PM – 8 :00 PM at Penobscot Bay Language School (28 Gay Street, Rockland, ME). Walk-ins will be permitted based on space availability.
