Rockport Public Library invites students, ages 10-14, to join Kea Tesseyman, of KEA Dance Center, to the wonderful wizarding world of movement and magic. This 1-hour mat class, on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 5:30 p.m., will test the witch’s and wizard’s knowledge of the magical world of Harry Potter!
Starting in Hufflepuff House with an arrival phase of stretches, students will journey into Ravenclaw’s myofascial release phase. Next participants will embark on a duel of movements that raises the heart rate as they face off against Slytherin – ending in a calming and centering phase of movements with Gryffindor.
Students will cast spells in poses; search for secret passageways into Hogwarts (traveling within their minds); find balance for broomstick riding at the next quidditch match; and learn how to defeat darkness by bringing the light with their own unique magical movement!
Each witch or wizard should wear comfortable clothes and bring with them their own wand (or one will be provided). Mats will be provided. Kea is a certified bodyART instructor. No previous experience with bodyART Movement is necessary. All levels of ability are welcome.
Space is limited. For more information, and to register, please call the Rockport Library at 207-236-3642.
