Maine Sport Outfitters is excited to host the 6th Annual Turkey Ride, an event that features cycling to Hannaford to purchase a frozen turkey and side dishes and then riding with the turkey and sides to the Camden Area Food Pantry.
The event will be held Saturday, November 16 beginning at 9 a.m. at Maine Sport Outfitters, Rockport. This cycling-focused community event is for all ages and cycling abilities. The Turkey Ride helps meet the food-security needs of Midcoast Mainers during the Thanksgiving holidays.
The day’s itinerary is simple: Gather at Maine Sport Outfitters, Rockport, cycle to Hannaford, Camden grab a turkey and sides and cycle to Camden Area Christian Food Pantry (Mt. Battie Street) for drop-off and photos, cycle back to Maine Sport Outfitters to gather for snacks, and post-ride shopping.
There will be different routes varying from 5.9 miles to 11 miles. Bike rentals are available as well. Registration is free. Riders pay to purchase a turkey and sides at Hannaford. Maine Sport Outfitters will pay for youth riders’ turkeys!
