Announcement of Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District’s Annual Banquet and Conservation Awards Celebration on August 21st at Beaver Lodge in Hope.

August 8, 2024

The community is invited to Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District’s Annual Banquet and Conservation Awards Celebration on August 21st from 4:30 pm 7:30 pm. Our banquet will be held at Beaver Lodge in Hope with dinner by Megunticook Market from Camden, and homemade pies from D-Zerts by Daphne from Westport Island. Conservation Awards will be presented after a video presentation of “Growing Wild – A Short Documentary | The Untold Stories of Maine’s Wild Blueberries” and panel discussion with Ron Howard of Brodis Blueberries, Ashley Field of Fields Fields Blueberries, and Peter Abello of NRCS-Maine.

We are excited to see everyone and to share in acknowledging conservation leaders:

Conservation Farm of the Year: Pumpkin Vine Family Farm, Somerville

Volunteers of the Year: Dewey Meteer and Sharon Abair

Special Recognition for Dedication and Leadership in Conservation Practices: Rebecca Jacobs

Additional Knox and Lincoln conservation leaders to be recognized are those several residential owners who earned their KLSWCD Conservation Landscape Certification status. Thanks to the generosity of our business sponsors, the fee for the evening is only $25. For planning purposes, please register by August 16th, to register and pay: visit https://www.knox-lincoln.org/events-workshops/annual-banquet-2024 either online or please contact julie@knox-lincoln.org, 207-596-2040.
