Lighthouses

BUILT IN THE 19TH CENTURY,

the Camden-Rockland Region’s lighthouses were designed by some of America’s leading architects and engineers, who were tasked with overcoming the exceptional challenges of wave-swept ledges and shifting sands. Each one is unique in its construction and its stories of courage, shipwrecks, and ghosts.
